Interesting POV in regard to paying it forward. Many coaches on the web are talking about 80% 20% give before you get. Making the promise of or asking if there is anything you can do will help. But I believe you still need to be prepared to provide some interesting information when doiing your networking

You’re right, Richard, that it is important to always ask how you can assist them. And to offer anything you can. I just don’t want job seekers to hold off making their networking calls until they think of something the other person would want. That can really slow down the job search. Hopefully people will be on the look out for things that can be useful to others. You never know! Thank you for your comment.

In the meantime one way to come up with something that can fill in until you get a true brand statement is to answer these questions:
What problem do you solve?
How do you solve it?

What results does the company get?

This 3-step technique can be used in all your interviews to quickly and powerfully explain why you’re the best candidate.
